FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
London UK – Exciting new talent Natalie McCool (http://www.nataliemccool.co.uk) who refers to her music as ‘dark panoramic indie’ writes a song called ‘America’ with a little help from music legend Sir Paul McCartney.
She was initially discovered when she won a Yamaha ‘Make It Break It’ song writing award judged by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Grammy award winning record producer Steve Levine, and Live Aid promoter Harvey Goldsmith CBE.
Natalie said: “America was about three quarters finished when I sat down with Sir Paul McCartney in a one-to-one song writing master class. I played the song to him and explained that I was in the process of writing a bridge section.”
“Sir Paul picked up his guitar and began to play along with me, and he then came up with the chord structure for the bridge of the song. Later I finished writing the lyrics, and so completed the song”.
Natalie said she was initially inspired to write the song after a controversial discussion on an online US political forum came to her notice, and remarked that the lyrics to ‘America’ are neither opinion nor argument, but merely observation.
It seems that every so often the UK indie scene produces an absolute gem of an artist destined for great things, and Natalie certainly seems to fit that profile. She has recently been hitting the BBC Radio airwaves, and is a favourite of Chris Hawkins at BBC Radio 6 music, and two of her tracks have been played on UK TV show ‘Hollyoaks’.
